Get up close and personal with a new species: robotic creatures with personality. At the Robo-creaTUres Petting Zoo, you’ll meet a playful pack of robotic companions: shy bots, curious drones, moon explorers and plant-creatures on the move. Some you can touch, others you can observe (but please, don’t feed them). Designed by TU Delft students and researchers, the Petting Zoo invites you to play, interact and wonder!

  • FLIP

FLIP stands for Friendly Logic-based Interactive Presence. This small, curious robot reacts to people much like a living creature would. FLIP sees, hears and senses its surroundings, and expresses its “feelings” through movement, antennas and expressive eyes.

  • fizzy the robotic ball

Fizzy is a playful robotic ball with a mind of its own. Rolling, wobbling and responding to your movements, it invites you to interact, chase and experiment. Beneath its soft, flexible shell hides a clever locomotion principle: with just one motor, Fizzy learns how to move, adapt and express itself through motion.

  • the swarming lab

The Swarming Lab explores how many small robots can work together to do surprisingly complex things. Inspired by flocks of birds and swarms of insects, these tiny flying robots don’t rely on a single leader. Instead, each one follows simple rules, and together they form a smart, flexible and resilient swarm.

  • robotanics

RoBotanics brings plants to life in unexpected ways. What looks like an ordinary potted plant slowly starts to move and respond to your presence. Hidden inside each pot is a small autonomous robot with simple sensors and smooth, omnidirectional motion.

  • OpenFish

OpenFish is a soft robotic fish inspired by one of nature’s most efficient swimmers: the tuna. Designed as an open-source platform, this bio-inspired robot moves quietly and smoothly through the water, making it safer for wildlife and less disruptive to its surroundings. Its flexible tail bends on impact, just like a real fish, avoiding damage and debris.
